Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor who has appeared on film and television and on stage is best known for portraying Teri Joseph, a fiery lawyer in the show the show on Showtime called Soul Food. Following her graduation from high school Contractor accepted a scholarship at The University of Toronto to pursue a dual major in psychology and sociology. In addition, she obtained a master's degree in Theater. Contractor with a degree in sociology, having been a student for a year was invited to audition in an open audition for Pericles which was held at the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the part. The show she played in 92 performances were praised by Canadian theater critics. The conservatory in Stratford is home to eight males, four women and a handful of others for a weeks of crash courses. Contractor received a guaranteed slot for the following season and was given the role of Hermia.
